About us

The idea for seku-vaiku (follow the child) was born in a children's playground in Vilnius' Old Town, where we, Miglė and Austėja, were pushing our daughters on the swings and sharing our thoughts about (un)proven toys and materials. We quickly realized how much of a shortage there is of high-quality, well-designed products in EU. That was our eureka moment.

This is how seku-vaiku was born, out of love for Montessori's ideas, which we adapt in our daily lives for modern children and the homes they live in.

Modern Montessori

seku-vaiku was born out of a strong desire to share our accumulated knowledge and make it easier for others who want to choose the Montessori path: from science, from practice, from the heart—first for our children, and now for yours too.

"So that life at a child's pace is simple and meaningful, full of trust in the child and fostering the child's confidence - consciously, naturally, and rhythmically," says Austėja, who has already completed AMI-certified training (0-3 and 3-6 age groups) with great enthusiasm.

For us, Montessori is about trusting children, their abilities, and their chosen rhythm. This is also what seku-vaiku is about: appropriately selected, methodologically correct tools, a safe and inviting environment for exploration, and solutions at home that encourage independence and confidence in one's own abilities.

"I strongly believe that motherhood, raising children, and educating them at home should not be complicated! On the contrary, it should be easy, calm, and fun. With less noise, distractions, or unnecessary things, but more sincerity and quality time together. That's what we'll try to share here," says Miglė, who is also an AMI-certified practitioner (0-3 and 3-6 age groups).

Educational materials and toys

Here you will find educational materials and toys that we have carefully selected or created ourselves and manufacture specifically for seku-vaiku. We are constantly updating and expanding our range so that we can offer as many meaningful toys as possible for children from birth to 4 years and older. It is important to us that the items are of high quality, made from child- and environment-friendly materials, and durable. Their price is no less important – we strive to make it as favorable and affordable as possible.

Before being added to our range, every product and toy undergoes a very serious testing phase in the hands of our little testers Preila, Rusnė, and Ema: we check whether the product is convenient, interesting, how it is used, how it wears, and whether it is worth putting on our virtual shelves.
